Today, the IT ‘landscape’ has changed. With the burgeoning growth of business tools from smartphones to tablets, file sharing to collaborative working, cloud computing has become the key solution to SMEs computing needs.

However, there can be an initial hurdle for SMEs to overcome. This is because SMEs do not have a direct relationship with a vendor like Google or Microsoft, so they need to rely on those select companies who serve SMEs on their behalf, and not all of these partners are ready and willing to propose cloud computing to their customers. This potentially leaves the SME customer disadvantaged from all of the available choices when making their decisions. The cloud presents an alternative to own and operate, and opens up a new debate – before the cloud you didn't have a choice, but now you do, what do you do?
